1. Will the conference be postponed?

No. The conference will be held during the same days as if it were face-to-face. That is to say, August 9th – 12th, 2021.

2. Will the conference have a face-to-face or hybrid format?

After much analysis on the worldwide context, and having everybody’s interest at heart, the WCTE 2021 will be held virtually, only. This new format will enable everybody to participate in this event, safely and from everywhere in the world.

3. What is the online platform for the conference?

The WCTE 2021 Secretariat is currently working on the platform for the conference. Stay tuned for more information.

4. What are the benefits for sponsors with an online format?

5. Have the prices changed?

6. What happens with my registration if I paid before the conference went online?

If you already paid your registration, this is still valid for the WCTE 2021 Online!

2020 was a difficult year for everyone, including the WCTE 2021. This is why, if you and/or your institution could support us donating the difference that results of these lowered fees, your generosity will be appreciated. Still, and understanding the diverse situations of our community, if you wish to ask for a partial refund, please contact our economic administrator, Mónica Sepúlveda (, before May 31st, 2021, and she will help you in this regard.

7. How are the presentations going to be with this new format?

Oral presentations: Authors will require to record a video with their presentations. We will contact all authors in order to assist them with the recording process, but if you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us at

Poster presentations: The online platform will include E-posters. Authors will require to send their E-poster with an audio clip. We will contact all authors with more details, but if you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us at

8. My abstract was accepted in the first call for papers, but I did not send the full paper. What can I do now?

If you could not participate in the WCTE 2021 before, because of the COVID-19 constraints, but would like to be part of the virtual conference, please write to us at, so we can assist you with the process. We want all our timber community present this next August 2021!

9. What is the deadline for registration?

Authors have to register before May 31st, 2021, to be included in the conference.

General public can register up to August 9th, 2021.
